Frequently Asked Questions About Vero Beach Golf Cart Prices
ANSWER...
Just depends on how you plan to use it and if you need it for long distances. Gas carts are noisy and the exhaust smells bad, and they have to be serviced more frequently. But long distances are not an issue. Electric ones are quiet and give a smoother ride, but you have to recharge batteries often and will have lots of down time while you wait for it to charge. I live in a city with over 100 miles of golf cart paths. I have an electric with 48 volt batteries that I drive daily to work and to run errands around town. It works great for me.

I live in a golf cart community where many people buy used electric golf carts rather than spend the high dollars for a new one. A used golf cart is usually a much better value, but you are buying the golf cart "as is." Which means it is important to know what to look for in a used electric golf cart. We bought our used electric Club Car 15 years ago and we need to upgrade to a 4 seater. When we do we will for sure buy a used one again. Here are some of the things to look for:
1. Find the serial number - the number tells you the age of the golf cart
2. Inspect the golf cart body for rust, scratches, damage, or roof leaks
3. Inspect the battery cables and batteries for corrosion, leaks, wear and tear. Lift the seat and look for the month (A being January through L being December) and year the batteries were made. Find out how old the batteries are and how much the cart has been used since the batteries were purchased.
4. Check the tires for wear
5. Take the golf cart for a test drive including a hill, or with a load of people to see how well it can handle it. Test the brakes, acceleration, turning, stability, play in the steering wheel and the battery charge.
6. Ask if it includes a batter charger. Find out whether it is an automatic battery charger that shuts off automatically when the batteries are fully charged (which is the better option) or with a manual timer.
7. Consider only used golf carts from well-known companies like Yamaha, EZ Go and Club. If you buy a cart made by a company you have never heard of, you will have a hard time finding replacement parts.

use the charger it came with. plug it into an electric socket and there's a place the cord can attach into the golf cart. if its plugged into it and if it's still not charging try shaking the cord to get it going, if it still doesn't consider getting a new battery.

By far the most common Question we hear from our customers looking to purchase a new golf cart is, "Should I get gas, or electric?". Now, we would love to say, "buy one of each, problem solved!" But that may not be in most peoples budget, so we'll go through some of the strong and weak points of gas and electric, and hopefully give you a better understanding on each one.
One thing I would like to quickly point out is a common misconception that gas carts have a thicker frame, or are in some way more heavy duty than electric carts. Both carts are identical, with the only difference being the drivetrain; I.E Gas or electric.
Now that we have that out of the way, lets start!
Cost:
While the cost for a cart will vary greatly based on year model, added accessories, cart condition, Etc. a gas cart will generally cost between $700.00 - $1,000.00 more that an electric.
Run time:
Gas carts will typically get 120 miles per tank of gas.
Electric carts will get up to 30 or even 40 miles per charge depending on the cart.
While that may sound like a big difference, most people only ride between 5 and 10 miles a day, so for the majority of cart owners, electric carts have more than enough run time.
One more thing; all of our custom electric carts at North Florida Golf Carts are equipped with battery meters that show you how much run time you have left.
Speed and performance:
Surprisingly, electric carts actually have a higher top speed than gas carts.
An electric cart can run from 20 - 24 mph right out of the box, with performance
upgrades available to take that speed all the way up to 30mph!
A gas cart can run up to 18 - 20 mph and there are not many speed upgrades you can do to one. In addition, electric carts will get up to top speed faster as well.
As far as power, the newer 48v electric carts have more torque than their gas counterpart, but you may want to consider gas if you will be using the cart as a workhorse, and are continually putting it under a load. In this case, a gas cart will last longer.
Noise, ride, and vibration:
Electric carts win this competition hands down. Although gas golf carts are much more quiet than a side by side, they do make noise while being driven. Gas carts also have mild vibration, and in the summer, you can feel some heat coming from under the seat. Electric carts on the other hand, are virtually silent, (which make them great for hunters), have no vibration, run cooler, have no exhaust smell, and you don't have to worry about having a choke button.
Cost to own:
A common misconception is that electric carts are more costly to own because of the need to buy batteries every few years but consider this: A brand new, quality set of golf cart batteries for a 48v cart will run anywhere from $650.00 - $750.00, and batteries should last 5-8 years with proper maintenance. On a gas cart, you should have a service done twice a year and oil change done 2-4 times a year, and most dealers charge $89.00 - $120.00 for a full service not including valve adjustments and belts. Multiply that by 5-8 years and you see how electric carts are more inexpensive to own.
Reliability:
Both carts are very reliable, but newer electrics do generally last longer than gas. On an electric cart, there are fewer parts and therefore fewer parts to go bad. with a gas cart, you have clutches, carb, fuel pump, belts, valves, starter and more.
In conclusion:
Both gas and electric carts have their purposes. If you want to drive long distances, or use the cart where you wont have access to electricity,
a gas cart may be a better option. Electric carts are great for their lower cost, quiet, fast ride, and less maintenance.

With the increasing rise of golf carts being used for recreation, transportation, and hunting, it is safe to say that golf carts are not just for golfing anymore.
So, when shopping for your golf cart, how do you decide which brand is right for you? Club Car and EZGO are the two most popular golf cart manufacturers and are both American products. Deciding between the two means identifying the model that fits your lifestyle and delivers the maximum performance, style, and durability that you expect.
The uses for golf carts are practically limitless. From running around the neighborhood, hauling trash or equipment, doing yard work, hunting, to of course, golfing, golf carts are versatile. Understanding how your cart will be used primarily is the first step towards choosing the perfect cart.
One of the most important things to consider is the amperage of the golf cart controller, which largely drives performance and produces the torque and speed of the cart. The more amps, the more torque. Keep in mind that battery life is affected by performance controllers.
The first EZGO golf cart was introduced in 1954. Known to be some of the most rugged vehicles on the market today, Bad Boy Buggies use an EZGO style frame for their hunting carts. One of the primary benefits of choosing an EZGO is the reputation for being durable.
EZGO’s are well designed, have a steel frame, and are very durable. EZGO replacement and aftermarket parts are fairly inexpensive and easy to come by. The EZGO has a smooth ride and have plenty of options and upgrades to turn a basic cart into the electric vehicle you need. Built with quality materials, EZGOs are also known to be easy to maintain.
EZGO golf carts are available in electric or gas powered models.
Club Car has been a leader in quality, innovative golf carts since the 1950's. They pride themselves in a corporate environment that prioritizes customer satisfaction.
Club Car golf carts are designed with the most innovative and useful features on the market which are routinely included as standard equipment. Their aluminum style frame guarantees against rust and provides lightweight durability. Club Car golf carts utilize improved power for uphill driving as well as enhancements to the speed controls, balancing speed and torque. Offering a variety of models, including two, four, six, and eight seaters, Club Car offers something for everyone.
Club Car offers industry related golf carts catering to Golf Hospitality, Turf Industries, and Transportation. Both electric and gas models are popular.
Once you have decided which features are the most important, consider the pros and cons of each and commit to a decision. No matter which cart you choose, you are sure to be pleased.
